    Department of Electronics and Telecommunication conducted a webinar on “Intelligent Enterprise with SAP” on 25th September, 2021. Mr. Milind Dumbre, Senior Program Manager (Automotive & Manufacturing Industry Hub), Capgemini was a speaker of the webinar. Around forty students and nine faculty attended the webinar. Webinar was conducted on online platform ‘Google meet’ at 4 p.m. in the evening.

    Mr. Milind Dumbre is responsible for developing and delivering SAP (Systems Applications and Products) based solutions for Automotive and Manufacturing industries. He also leads business process consulting platform in Capgemini’s ‘Global Centre of Excellence for Automotive and Manufacturing’. He has rich domain knowledge and global experience of working with Automotive OEM’s. He has more than 16 years of industrial experience including 12 years in SAP, process consulting and transformation.

    He covered all key concepts related to SAP, applications of SAP for enterprise resource planning etc. Opensource as well as paid software applications available to learn SAP were also introduced. Webinar ended with question – answer session where Mr. Milind solved most of the doubts of students.

    Coding Club is from the Department of Computer Engineering. The coding competition, Game of Code was coordinated by Mrs. Babita Bhagat and organized by Harsh Shah. The event was organized to test the coding skills of the students and help them compete with their college mates. Various language options were available for coding. The competition duration was from 10:00am to 10:00pm. Total 51 students have participated in coding competition

    ASTR Student’s Chapter in association with Department of Civil Engineering organized an International Symposium on 24th September, 2021 at 4 p.m. The webinar began with a prayer and the introduction of the speaker. Sakshi Gudhekar briefed about the chapter followed by the welcome address by Prof. Steffi Stephen. The speaker, Mr. Deelip V. B., Gavehis overall progress as a structural engineer and information about himself as the session started. The speaker made the students attempt a basic test on the structural analysis prior and after the talk to assess the effectiveness of the lecture for the students. It was a very informative session as many positive feedback swere received.

The main aim of this session was to help candidates gain confidence with the chance to reflect on their non-verbal and verbal communication abilities.   • Workshop on “Future of Electronics as an Entrepreneur”

    Workshop on “Future of Electronics as an Entrepreneur”

    A webinar on “Future of Electronics as an Entrepreneur” was organised under IETE Student Forum by the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering for SE, TE and BE students on 18th September, 2021. Mr. Sanjay Chaudhari, Director, Electronics Study Centre, Nashik was invited as guest speaker for this session.

    The seminar started with a brief overview of various practical aspects in electronic Sector. Speaker explained various techniques to identify electronic components. A live demonstration of component testing was given by the speaker. Students found the session very informative. Some practical tricks for identifying components, its usage at appropriate place and its testing were delivered.

    The QA part of the session was really fruitful as students took part actively and cleared their queries. Session ended with vote of thanks. Session feedback submitted by students has confirmed the effectiveness of the session. The webinar was coordinated by Mr. Pratik Mhatre.

    Want to control a live robot from your home? Pillai College of Engineering presents an online facility “Pillai INDUSTRY 4.0” to enhance your knowledge and upgrade your skills in robotics and automation. One can learn the Operation and Control of Robotic systems, the programming and understanding of the functionality of our advanced robots with hands-on experience to program and control robots remotely from your home. Learn about industry 4.0 concepts in automation, controls, deep learning, AI, Image Processing, manufacturing and many more. Introducing the Dobot system with 3D printing, laser Engraving, Pen Drawing, Pick & Place and a lot more capabilities. Doing this kind of an interactive and hands-on program will definitely enhance career prospects, in addition to helping one gain useful knowledge to design similar systems for practical day to day applications.

    • The course is open to all students and faculties of MES (Mahatma Education Society) and even outside Mahatma Education Society from all branches and years of study.
    • No programming or robotics experience needed for this course.
    • Students with a PC / Laptop and good internet will be preferred.
    • Certificate for course completion will be provided on the basis of course project, assignments and overall performance.
    • The shortlisting of students for every batch will be based on a first come first serve basis. Fresh next batch as per response received will be intimated via mail after completion of every batch. Registration payment link will be sent once your nomination form is received.
    • Each batch will have a dedicated time period of two week with 20 hours course time and 20 hours project / assignment time.
    • The same course is offered in offline mode; those with good health (no Covid symptoms) or double dose covid vaccine can nominate for offline training on weekends.

    The webinar was inaugurated with a virtual prayer and a lamp-lighting ceremony. Dr. Shilpa Kewate, convener made the opening comments. She greeted the attendees and introduced the committee members. Mr. Bhoumesh Pandit, President of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), welcomed the speaker and also reviewed our previous activities and presented his goals and visions for the coming year. The session was started by the keynote speaker Mr. Venugopal R. on Energy Efficient Glasses.

    Mr. Venugopal R. explained the key concepts of energy efficient glasses. Also brief information about Characteristics, stability and the important factors of Energy Efficient Glasses were provided by him. Energy-efficient glass is use for double or triple glazing used in modern windows in homes. Unlike the original single glazing or old double glazing, energy-efficient glazing incorporates low-emissivity coated glass to prevent heat escaping through the windows. This makes the windows highly thermally insulating hence improving the energy efficiency of your home and helping to save money on your heating bills.

    The session concluded with an interactive session between the resource persons and the participants in which the queries of the participants were addressed satisfactorily.This event was graced by presence of Ms. Sarita Balodhi, Manager at Confederation of Construction Products and Services (CCPS), Mr. Bhavesh Mehta, Core Committee Member, CII IGBC Mumbai Chapter, Mr. Sandip Tallaulikar, Managing Director, Jackson Hospitality Pvt. He has started his carrier as a lecturer in Lokmanya Tilak College of Engineer Koperkhairane, Navi Mumbai, then he moved to Nasik Worked as Sr. Lecture at MVP KBT College of Engineering. After completing his master he has shifted his carrier from teaching to industry. Worked as an Assistant Engineer at Maharashtra State Electricity Power Generation Company Ltd. (MSEB) on 140MW Thermal Power Plant, Later he joined MAHAGENCO Training Department. Presently he is working as Deputy Executive Engineer at Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd. (MSEB) is involved in 220/22kV EHV substation.

Starting from the basics of the power systems he extended his presentation towards different types of power plant operation and grid maintenance. It was really an informative session and was carried out through the online Google Meet platform around 50 Students and faculty participated enthusiastically. The session ended with a vote of thank speech given by Prof. R. D. More. The feedback link circulated among the participants and E-certificates were provided.
