Event ObjectiveTo familiarize Third Year (TE) students with the curriculum structure, Program Elective (PE) and Multidisciplinary Minor (MDM) options, examination scheme, and academic processes under the Autonomous System, while creating awareness about placement preparation and opportunities such as Smart India Hackathon (SIH), Avishkar, and other technical initiatives.
Event OutcomeStudents gained a clear understanding of the curriculum structure, elective options, examination and evaluation processes, and academic expectations under the Autonomous System. They also became aware of opportunities for technical skill development, research, innovation, and placement preparation through departmental and professional body activities

The Department of Electronics and Computer Science organized an Orientation Programme for Third Year (TE) students on 1 July 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in Classroom A-104. The programme aimed to familiarize students with the curriculum and examination scheme under the Autonomous System.

Dr. Mansi Subhedar, Head of the Department, provided an overview of the Semester V and VI curriculum, highlighting the Program Elective Courses (PEC) , Multidisciplinary Minor (MDM) buckets, and the significance of various Program Core Courses (PCC). She explained the flexibility offered through elective choices and guided students in selecting courses aligned with their career aspirations, higher studies, and industry requirements.

The session also covered the examination scheme, Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE), End-Semester Examination (ESE), credit requirements, attendance regulations, and the academic calendar. Students were encouraged to actively participate in Smart India Hackathon (SIH), Avishkar Research Convention, technical competitions, internships, and activities conducted through professional bodies to strengthen their technical and research skills. Guidance was also provided on placement preparation, emphasizing aptitude development, programming skills, project work, certifications, communication skills, and continuous technical learning to enhance employability.

Students were also informed about the Honours Programme, which offers an opportunity to earn 18 additional credits by completing advanced courses in a chosen specialization, thereby enhancing their domain expertise and improving prospects for higher studies and career advancement.

The programme concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students’ queries regarding elective selection, curriculum structure, academic regulations, placement preparation, and examination processes were addressed.
