    Department of EXTC engineering organized a webinar on Journey from Computer Communication Networks to Wireless Networks and IoT”. Dr. Shubhangi Kharche Associate Professor, SIES graduate school of Technology, Nerul, Navi Mumbai was invited as a guest speaker. She is a Technical Trainer with more than 2 decades of exceptional experience in training the students of Electronics and Telecommunication. More than a decade of experience in Research and Development with innovative ideas imparted to the candidates performing Research and Development. She is awarded the Best paper award at the IEEE International conference held at IISc Bangalore in 2016. Also, awarded by Women Researcher Award by International Scientist Awards in 2021.

    In this session, the basics of Computer communications networks were discussed in detail by the expert. Followed by various types of network topologies and cables used for communication were explained. Different types of wireless networks were explained by the expert. Also, she briefed students about certifications available for various applications. 35 students attended the webinar.

  • Cleanliness Drive 2021-22

    Cleanliness Drive 2021-22

    A clean environment is an indicator of the progress of human beings and with the motto of clean environment has initiated by ‘Chandrakant Nana Bhoir Sarpanch Group Grampanchayat Turade’. The NSS unit of PHCET has taken this opportunity and initiated a cleanliness drive outside the Rasayani station. As a part of regular NSS activities, our NSS unit has organized a cleanliness drive on the Rasayani station. The activity was started at sharp 9:00 a.m., 11th March, 2022. The aim of the drive is to clean the public places like Railway Station.

    During this activity, volunteers have cleaned the station and track of Rasayani Railway Station. They collected dry and wet waste separately so that it will be easy to recycle. All the garbage bags are collected at one place and then dry waste is sent for recycling and wet waste to the dumping area. For this cleanliness activity, the whole NSS unit is divided into 2 groups. One group has taken the responsibility of area near the railway station and other group looks towards the railway tracks. Gloves and bags for garbage collection are provided to volunteers.

    Some of the passerby public also joined with volunteers in this work and they appreciated the efforts of NSS Volunteers while mentioning they said that selfish spirit of NSS to serve the Nation and society is really appreciable being a true inspiration for today’s youth. About 18-20 volunteers actively participated in this drive under the guidance of NSS coordinator Prof. Rekha Dhawan and Dr. Avinash Gatade. In this way, the whole activity was conducted successfully with great spirit and enthusiasm.

  • International Women’s Day 2022

    International Women’s Day 2022

    Women’s Development Cell (WDC), Pillai HOC College of Engineering & Technology, Rasayani has celebrated International Women’s Day on 8th March, 2022 at 1.30 p.m. in the multi-purpose hall, Architecture building to honour womanhood. The program was organised for female students, faculty and non teaching staff. The event witnessed blithesome activities like Zumba dance, Poem recitation, Singing, Dancing, Fun games and competition with some exciting prizes. The program ended with zeal of Fashion show and some refreshments.

    4. To make students aware about criteria of eligibility, how to prepare for aptitude test, how to develop communication skills, how to present themselves during interview
    5. To encourage students to participate in cultural events to add attributes in their resumes.

    Event Feedback:
    The webinar was well attended by the third year students. We received a good response from the students and also they gave very good feedback. All the concepts were explained clearly and doubts were also cleared. At the end of the workshop, Ms. Shrutika Khobragade (Faculty Coordinator) thanked HoDs, Faculty members, Management and participants for their active support for making the webinar successful.

    Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti

    Pillai College of Arts, Commerce & Science, New Panvel celebrated Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti on 3rd March, 2022. It was a great honour to celebrate this day. An exhibition was organised to give information about various forts. About 150 forts were covered in an exhibition. Lots of students participated. Students were wearing traditional costumes. There were events like powada, Dhol tasha pathak, Lazim, Lathi kathi etc.

    Flutter Festivals 2022 is an event series where developers can join to learn the fundamentals of Flutter, Dart, Firebase and Google Cloud. University students can develop solutions for real world problems using Google products or platforms like Android, Firebase, TensorFlow, Google Cloud, Flutter, or any other Google technologies by building a solution for any of the UN Sustainable Development Goals related to economic growth and climate change.

    During this first session, students received additional details about the Flutter Festival 2022. The speakers familiarize them with the technologies (Flutter and Dart) and encouraged them to utilize this opportunity.

    There were 195 students attended and seemed very excited to participate and build their projects. At the end of the session, a feedback form was shared to get a better idea of what kind of event the students would like to attend in future.

    A total of 150 students had registered for the event. Mr. Rishabh Mehta commenced the session by explaining about the cloud technology and infrastructure, history of cloud, how cloud came into existence in various different stages, introduction to the google cloud platform, and then discussed about many different APIs available on the Google Cloud Platform for us developers to use and Integrate in our ongoing projects. The session ended with Question Answer and vote of thanks by Prathamesh Pandey and E-Certificate was mailed to their registered mail ids. Positive feedback was received from participants.

    Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology under PHCET Student’s Council is organizing an event on the topic Importance of Innovation and Innovative thinking

    We invite participants from various departments and domains (Engineering, Science, Architecture) to come up with their own creative concepts and ideas for the specified theme.

    Topic: Use of Plastic bottles for creating Innovative Models.

    NOTE:- Participants are expected to create models using plastic bottles and any other necessary equipment and submit a video of the working model on the form provided by the student council.

    Participants have to make sure their videos are well edited, properly explained, approximately one minute long and their audio/ video should have reasonable quality. (Size limit for video is 1 GB)
