  • Teacher’s Day 2022

    A Teacher’s Day Function was organized by the Department of ECS, IETE student forum council for all the faculty members on 8th September, 2022. At this event, the Head of Department Dr. Mansi Subhedar, all faculty members and 60 students were present.

    The teachers’ day function started at 2:00 p.m. The function started with a short introduction of a function given by the anchors, Sanika Patil and Aniket Pawar. A welcome speech was given by the SE student, Shreya Mhatre, where she explained the importance of teachers and how teachers are the builders of a nation. After that,Head of the department, Dr. Mansi Subhedar presented her thoughts on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.

    All the IETE student forum members took on the responsibility of the teachers’ day celebration. Omakar Bobade and Rajesh Potdar were the head organizers of the event. The event conduction was managed by Janvahi Shirke, Sanika Patil, Disha Joshi and Ashutosh Ovhal. All the teachers were given a bouquet of roses and handmade greeting cards, which were made by Shruti Urankar and Sakshi Deshmukh. A singing performance was given by a group of students, Raj Popeta, Nirjara Kuthale and Saurabh Parkhe. A few games were also arranged by the students for the enjoyment of the teachers. After that, a dance performance was given by Prathmesh Patil.

    Teachers have always been so patient and advising. A thank you speech was given by Utkarsha Tambe. The program ended with cake cutting and the distribution of snacks. Mandar Korde and Aniket Pawar managed all refreshment arrangements These beautiful memories were captured by Sanchit Palwankar and Akshansh Badhwar.

    Head of the department, Dr. Mansi Subhedar and all the faculty members appreciated everyone’s effort.

    Department of Civil Engineering, Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology organizes webinar on “Climate Change – A Concern for Mumbai” on 20th August, 2022. An eminent speaker for the program was Mr. Sudipta Chakraborti, Infrastructural Consultant, Mumbai. The session started with opening notes and welcoming of guests by the program coordinator. Resource person explained in detailed adverse effect of climate change on Mumbai. He also explained what precursory measures to be taken to avoid adverse effect on Mumbai region. Question answer session was held towards the end of the session. 38 participants were registered for the orientation. The session was conducted by eminent speaker through ZOOM platform. Participants provided their feedback through the link shared with them. Certificate was awarded to all participants who attended the sessions and gave feedback.

    Department of Civil Engineering, Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology organizes webinar on “Health Assessment of Existing Nuclear Fuel Cycle Facilities” on 20th August, 2022. An eminent speaker for the program was Dr. Dauji Saha, Scientific officer, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai. The session started with opening notes and welcoming of guests by the program coordinator. Resource person explained the about the necessity of the health assessment of existing structures, various tests to be conducted on the structure to check its health. Resource person also what are the different programs is organised by BARC, Mumbai. He also shared information regarding the selection criteria in BARC. Question answer session was held towards the end of the session. 38 participants were registered for the orientation. The session was conducted by eminent speaker through ZOOM platform. Participants provided their feedback through the link shared with them. Certificate was awarded to all participants who attended the sessions and gave feedback.

    Industrial Visit to Smart Kalyan Dombivli Development Corporation Ltd., Kalyan (W)

    Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering organized an Industrial Visit for Third and Final year students on 18th August, 2022, at Smart Kalyan Dombivli Development Corporation Ltd., Kalyan (W). 21 third-year students, 8 final year students along with faculty coordinators Prof. Rekha Dhawan and Prof. Jayesh Rane attended the visit. The main objective was to demonstrate various functions in the smart control room of Mahanagar Palika. The authorities and their representatives demonstrated live monitoring of various activities. In the smart city project CCTV cameras, Flood sensors, Fixed and PTZ cameras, Vehicle mounted cameras, and Drones are placed across the city. A command-and-control center is established for the Municipal Corporation and police department for round-the-clock monitoring of the entire city. Students could see these operations and controls in real-time.

    The smart Vehicle Management System in which number plate is captured and if a vehicle disobeys any rule, a fine is charged automatically. Intrusion Alert System in which if an unauthorized person tries to enter in restricted place how the cameras near it interact with each other and within a fraction of seconds signal is sent to control room. Emergency Control Box and how it is helpful for people were demonstrated. A person in danger or in any sort of need can press the button provided on the box and he / she gets the required help from the control center. In the city, Display Boards are mounted at two locations to send emergency messages to residents. A public Address System is also present in the city which is used in the time of emergency situations when common instructions are to be passed to people. There are many more systems implemented in the city that were demonstrated to students. Our students also interacted with the authorities and cleared their doubts.

    A real-time demonstration of all smart systems was given, Students found it very interesting and helpful. They got many new ideas to implement for their minor and major projects.

    This event was a part of the celebrations of 75 years of Independence.

    When studying for competitive exams, one of the many important subjects to cover is History. Being a lengthy subject, it frequently terrifies many aspirants, but when studied in an engaging way, it may be simple to remember and understand. The topic of the Indian National Movement, which is a significant phase in the freedom struggle of India, is one of the most important topics that cover the broad history of India.

    The Indian independence movement was a series of historic events with the ultimate aim of ending British rule in India. It lasted from 1857 to 1947.

    Around 84 Students from our institute have participated in this event.

    Event Outcome:

    • Importance of history in India before independence
    • The list of Indian freedom movements should be prepared well by candidates studying for upcoming government exams like SSC, RRB, Bank a general awareness is a requirement for many of these exams
    • Given overview of the Indian Freedom Movements

Mahajan is Principal, Tata Power Skill Development Institute, Shahad. He has vast experience in the field of Power Transmission & Distribution as well as Operations areas. He also teaches Electrical and employability related subjects. Total 52 students participated in the session.

    The speaker explained about Resume preparation, Group discussion, HR Rounds, new Online Recruitment Process & resources available for preparation and many more. Guidelines were given for Online resources for interview preparations. He gave insights about how to prepare oneself for an interview and to prepare responses to few likely asked questions like your strengths, weaknesses, accomplishments, goals, etc. He explained the current trends and various opportunities for young engineers in all sectors. He also explained the importance of renewable energy sources and the opportunities available in solar energy. Electrical engineers are specialized in power supply and generation. They have jobs in design, develop, test and supervise electrical equipment manufacturing discipline. This webinar was very informative and interactive. The students were able to know about the company’s actual expectations from students and how students can prepare themselves for higher studies.
