    Event ObjectiveThe objective of this was to enhance students’ understanding of emerging technologies particularly Prompt Engineering and to promote participation in both technical and non-technical activities that build creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
    Event OutcomeStudents gained a strong conceptual understanding of Prompt Engineering and its uses in modern AI tools. The event also enhanced their communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills through engaging technical and non-technical activities.

    The Department of Computer Engineering organized the Student Development Program – NEOTECH 2025 on September 25, 2025, at the Engineering Building.The event began with an inauguration ceremony that included lamp lighting and banner unveiling, marking the formal commencement of the day. The dignitaries were welcomed with Tulsi pots as a gesture of gratitude.

    Following the inauguration, an enlightening seminar on Prompt Engineering was conducted by Dr. Yogesh Jadhav, the invited resource person. Dr. Yogesh Jadhav explained the fundamentals of prompt creation, its applications in AI-driven systems, and effective techniques for designing context-aware prompts.After the seminar, students participated in a Prompt Engineering Competition, where they were given real-world problem statements to solve using their knowledge from the seminar.

    Alongside the technical events, several non-technical activities were conducted to encourage engagement and teamwork. These included UNO, Free Fire, BGMI, Valorant,Logo designing and Robo Racing. Among these, BGMI was held online, while the other games took place on campus. The events were open to inter-college and school participants, attracting enthusiastic participation and healthy competition.Throughout the day, judges evaluated the participants and ensured smooth coordination of all events. The SDP was proudly sponsored by Prof. Rahul Kapse through his company Reva Technologies, which also provides internship opportunities for students.The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners from all categories were awarded trophies, certificates, and cash prizes. The event proved to be a remarkable blend of learning and fun, strengthening both the technical competence and team spirit of students.

    Event Objective :

    The objective of this event was to promote environmental awareness and foster creativity among students by encouraging them to design posters on themes related to sustainability and eco-friendly practices.

    Students developed a deeper understanding of sustainable development concepts and enhanced their ability to visually communicate important environmental messages through art.

    Description of Event:

    The IGBC Student Chapter at Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology, Rasayani, successfully organized the Poster Making Competition on 30 January 2025 (Thursday) as part of the Harit Prem Bharat Mahotsav celebrations held from 27th to 31st January 2025.

    A total of 39 enthusiastic students from the Civil, Mechanical, and Computer Engineering departments participated in the competition, showcasing their creativity and commitment to sustainability. The event served as a dynamic platform for students to express their artistic skills while advocating for environmental protection.

    Participants designed posters based on various impactful themes, including:

    The Orientation program of GFG Club and Nation Skill Up Event was held on September 24, 2025. A total of 160 students attended the program. The gathering was addressed by Dr. Jagdish W. Bakal, Principal of PHCET, Rasayani, who motivated the students by highlighting how the GFG Club and Nation Skill Up Event were vital in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and industry demands. Dr. Rajashree Gadhave, Head of Computer Department, welcomed students and highlighted the role of GFG Club in skill development and encouraged active participation in technical workshop and peer learning initiative.

    Parent Teacher Meeting Report OSAY 2025-26

    The Parent–Teacher Meeting for OSAY 2025–26 was organized by the Department of Electronics and Computer Science on Saturday, 20th September 2025.

    Principal, Dr. J. W. Bakal, addressed the gathering with a warm welcome and expressed appreciation to all parents for attending the meeting. He highlighted various aspects of the teaching–learning process and emphasized the institute’s commitment to academic excellence.

    Training and Placement Officer, Ms. Divya Nair, briefed the parents about placement-related activities and shared the placement record of the previous academic year. She also explained the efforts taken by the faculty to prepare students for the upcoming 2025 recruitment drive.

    Head of the Department, Dr. Mansi Subhedar, spoke about the initiatives undertaken by the department for the technical and overall development of students. She discussed the performance in Internal Assessment–I and reviewed attendance. Parents raised queries related to lectures, assignments, and the placement efforts by the department and institute, which were addressed during the session.

    The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks on behalf of the department, assuring parents that such interactions will be organized regularly. Parents shared positive feedback, appreciating the efforts of the institute and the department toward shaping their ward’s bright future.

    Contents Covered:

    The meeting started with an interaction session of parents with our beloved Principal Dr. Jagdish W. Bakal Sir address regarding activities which will be covered during the semester and flow of examination activities. Dr.Rajashree Gadhave, HOD Computer Department and our Principal Dr. Jagdish W. Bakal felicitated the IA Toppers, PHCL Winners and Swatantra week winners. 133 total parents attended the meeting from SE,TE and BE . Later the schedule was conducted by covering the activities listed in agenda by the Class Advisor (CAs) and respective subject incharges of the classes. Attendance , Module Test 1 & 2 marks and Internal Assessment-1 results were shown to parents and progress of students was discussed. At the end of the session parents filled the Parents feedback form and survey form to express their views. Parents gave excellent feedback for the teaching learning process, accessibility of Teacher/HOD/Principal, infrastructure facilities, learning resources such as library, internet and support services like career counseling, placement etc. Parents were satisfied with the activities and teaching-learning process followed in the department.

    On September 19, 2025, our 89 students and faculties of computer department, Prof. Pradnya Patil, Prof. Rutvij Mane, Prof. Tejashree Pangare, Prof. Swaranjali Lokhande, Prof. Kashmira Dalvi, had the opportunity to visit Sumago Infotech Pvt. Ltd., a leading software development firm located in Pune. The visit was organized to provide students with practical insights into the workings of a professional software development environment and to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry practices. During the visit, we were warmly welcomed by the company’s technical team, who introduced us to the company’s mission, core services, and major projects. We got an in-depth look at how software products are conceptualized, developed, tested, and deployed in a real-world setting. One of the highlights of the visit was seeing the developers at work, coding and collaborating in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. We learned about various programming languages and frameworks they use, including Java, python, React JS, Angular JS,etc. Towards the end, we had an interactive Q&A session where our students clarified many doubts regarding industry expectations, career opportunities, and emerging trends intechnology.

    The Department of Information Technology organized a Seminar on “Smart Doc With Latex” on 17th September 2025. The session began with a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Poonam Lad, (Event Coordinator) of the IT Department, in the esteemed presence of Dr. Srijita Bhattacharjee (Head of the IT Department), Ms. Shibani Bose (Event Coordinator) and the faculty members.

    Following the welcome Dr. Srijita Bhattacharjee motivated and encouraged the students with her inspiring words. The Key Speaker, Ms. Pooja Shukre , addressed the students and shared the Knowledge about building the document on latex. The seminar provided students with practical guidance to enhance their confidence, clarity, and presentation abilities, while also equipping them with tools to design impactful document that align with industry expectations.

    The event concluded with an engaging interaction between the speaker and the students, making the seminar a highly successful and enriching experience. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Poonam Lad.

The event began with a speech by Ms. Avni and Mr. Prasad, SE C Student highlighting the importance of engineers in shaping the future. Dr. J. W. Bakal , Principal, PHCET addressed the gathering, emphasizing the role of engineers in nation-building. Dr.Rajashree Gadhave, HOD, Computer Engineering department shared her thoughts on the significance of Engineer’s Day and appreciated the efforts of the students and faculty. Ms.Snehal Chitale, faculty coordinator of the event welcomed everyone and gave an overview of the event. The computer department students showcased their talents with a wonderful dance and singing performance, leaving the audience mesmerized.

    A quiz was conducted for the students and gifts were given to the winners who answered correctly.
    A special surprise was planned for the teachers as a gesture of appreciation on Teachers’ Day, which was celebrated along with Engineer’s Day.The event featured cake cutting, adding to the festive atmosphere.Students entertained the audience with their energetic dance performances. An antakshari session was organized for the faculty, bringing out their playful side.

    The event concluded with Ms. Jidnysa Katkar ,SE C Student delivering a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event.
    Engineer’s Day was a grand success, with a total of 500+ students and faculty coming together to celebrate the spirit of engineering.

    The Department of Information Technology, PHCET has organized a grand celebration on 15th September 2025, honoring both Teachers’ Day and Engineer’s Day. This special program is designed to appreciate the invaluable contribution of our teachers and to celebrate the spirit of engineering excellence.

    The program commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by our respected Principal, Dr. Jagdish .W. Bakal, and Head of Department, Dr. Srijita Bhattacharjee, accompanied by all faculty members. This was followed by a graceful welcome dance (Ganesh Vandana) and a heartfelt felicitation ceremony honoring the Principal and all teachers.

    The event featured inspiring addresses by the HOD and Principal, as well as the felicitation of students for their academic excellence, outstanding CGPAs, and highest subject scores.A vibrant lineup of cultural performances — including skits, dances, singing, and stand-up comedy — showcased the immense talent of our students. Adding to the festive spirit, fun-filled games for both teachers and students brought laughter and lively interaction.

    The celebration concluded with a mesmerizing musical band performance, filling the atmosphere with rhythm and harmony, followed by a heartfelt Vote of Thanks and refreshments for all.

    Event Objective:To introduce students to the fundamental architecture, layers, and communication protocols of the Internet of Things.
    To develop understanding of sensors, microcontrollers, and data flow in IoT-based systems.
    To provide hands-on experience in interfacing sensors with Arduino and constructing basic IoT prototypes.
    Event Outcome:Students gained conceptual clarity on IoT architecture, components, and real-world applications.
    Students learned practical skills in sensor interfacing, Arduino programming, and data acquisition.
    Participants successfully built small working IoT models and demonstrated improved confidence in implementing IoT-based solutions.

    An expert session on “Internet of Things: Architecture and Use Cases” was conducted on 15 September for B.Tech students of the Department of Electronics and Computer Science by ECS HOD Dr. Mansi Subhedar. The theory session took place in Conclave–2 from 10.15 AM to 1.00 PM, followed by a hands-on laboratory session in the Research Lab from 1.45 PM to 4.45 PM. The objective of the program was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of IoT architecture, communication layers, sensing technologies, and real-world applications, followed by practical exposure to microcontrollers and sensor interfacing.

    During the theory session, students were introduced to the complete IoT ecosystem starting from the perception layer consisting of sensors, actuators, and transducers, to the network layer that connects devices through ZigBee, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy, and LoRaWAN. Students also learned about the role of embedded hardware like Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi, and the importance of security at each layer of the IoT stack. Several real-world use cases were demonstrated through architecture diagrams including applications in smart agriculture, smart homes, healthcare monitoring systems, Industry 4.0 automation, and transportation analytics.

    After the conceptual session, students assembled in the Research Lab for the hands-on IoT workshop using Arduino and various sensors. They were first introduced to the Arduino microcontroller architecture, pin configuration, and installation of the Arduino IDE. Basic programming tasks such as LED blinking and digital read/write operations were practiced before moving to sensor interfacing. Students worked with DHT11 temperature and humidity sensors, soil moisture sensors, and HC-SR04 ultrasonic modules. Each group went on to build a small working IoT prototype. Faculty members Dr. Mansi Subhedar and Mr. Mithun Nair guided students in debugging code, calibrating sensors, and validating output readings.

    The session strengthened their understanding of end-to-end IoT workflows and encouraged several participants to explore more advanced concepts like ESP32 programming, cloud connectivity, and mobile app integration for their future projects. Overall, the event was well received and contributed significantly to enhancing interdisciplinary technical skills among students.
