    Seminar started at 03:00 p.m. in A-105. Ms. Priya Tambe, department TPC coordinator introduced invited speaker for session, Ms. Divya Nair, Training & Placement officer, PHCET.

    She briefed about placement process and details of eligibility for companies. She also briefed about placement success rate, major corporate companies visiting the campus statistics of students placed etc. She explained about dos and don’ts in placement process and asked students to prepare thoroughly for upcoming placement drives.

    Total 22 students of B.E were attended this Seminar. The program concluded with a question and answer session followed by a vote of thanks to the speaker by Dr. Mansi Subhedar, Head of ECS Department.

    Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology (PHCET), Rasayani conducted an educational talk on, “Seminar on Further Studies in Abroad”, in collaboration with IMFS whose speaker was Mrs. Sanika Shinde. IMFS, a prominent organization specializing in overseas education and career opportunities, conducted the event, providing crucial information on pursuing higher education and professional growth in foreign countries. The speaker highlighted exciting career prospects in Australia, USA, Canada, and UK for engineering graduates. The seminar emphasized the importance of exams like GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) and GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) for studying abroad. Students gained valuable insights into the academic excellence and post-graduation opportunities offered by universities in these countries. The event inspired attendees to consider international education as a transformative path to success and personal growth. During the seminar, it was revealed that IMFS had effectively trained and facilitated the journey of 57,000 students to various countries in the past. This remarkable track record further emphasized IMFS’s expertise and credibility in guiding students towards achieving their study abroad aspirations. In the end, a Q & A session was conducted, allowing students to seek answers to their inquiries. Ma’am expertly addressed their concerns and provided significant guidance regarding the requirements and responsibilities associated with studying abroad. The webinar proved to be a resounding success, delivering essential information that students needed to make well-informed decisions about their future endeavours

    The Seminar started at 11:15 a.m. in A-105. Ms. Priya Tambe introduced invited speaker for session, Dr. Karthik N. a faculty from Department of Civil Engineering and ISRO outreach network coordinator. Dr. Mansi Subhedar, Head, Department of ECS guided students about importance of attending various certified courses offered by ISRO from curriculum point of view as well as from career point of view.

    Dr. Karthik had explained the objectives of ISRO Outreach Centre. ISRO encourages greater participation from academia, for generating human resources in space science and technology, expanding the user base of the space exploration mission data, and fostering an ecosystem to facilitate active participation of the students in space science and technology research. He also brief about START program where BE students are eligible to apply for online skill development program.

    Total 25 students of B.E class benefited from this Seminar. The session was very interactive and students showed their interest in the topic and promised to get registered for upcoming ISRO programs. The program concluded with a question and answer session followed by a vote of thanks to the speaker.

    A site visit for the ME CIVIL (Construction Engineering & Management), Semester II students was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering on 9th June, 2023. The location of site was ‘CIDCO Construction Site, Prime Minister Awas Yojana (PMAY), Nerul Navi Mumbai. This project is CIDCO’S biggest ever mass housing scheme for Economically (EWS) and Low Income Group (LIG) under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).

    Visit for Master of Engineering

    The construction of the tower involved production and installation of precast elements of the superstructure, along with architectural finishes and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing). This site had an efficient and versatile attributes, due to which it was an enormously fruitful experience to visit it. This site visit was very helpful to understand renowned advanced precast technology, detail design of staircase, slab, beam and columns through interaction, working methods and employment practices.

    The workshop was attended by the non teaching technical staff. We received a good response from them and also they gave very good feedback. All the concepts were explained clearly and understandably. At the end of the workshop, Prof. Rahul Kapse (Faculty Coordinator) thanked HoDs, Faculty members, Management and participants for their active support for making the programme successful.

    International Student Olympiad 2023 in Hot Bulk Technologies

    The International students olympiad in universities around the world was held on 24th May, 2023 at the Research & Innovation Centre, Engineering building, PHCET, Rasayani. Twenty five students originally registered for participating in the event. Out of twenty five ten students were selected who had participated in the practice sessions every Saturday during the month of April 2023 under the guidance of Dr. R. C. Prasad & Mr. Saurabh Sirsikar. Mr. Dhiraj Mishra, Business Development Manager interacted with participants and through Zoom meeting form Delhi on behalf of QFX Simulations Limited, Russia. The lunch was served in the R&D Innovation Lab that was sponsored by the Society for Failure Analysis Mumbai Chapter.

    Final evaluation will take into consideration Quality, Validity & applied approaches in decision making besides :

    1. Selection of equipment (performance evaluation, power and energy parameters).
    2. Analysis of possible defects in the forged piece.
    3. Analysis of wear resistance and strength of die tooling.
    4. Selection of the optimal work piece, selection of forging operations (number of the operations, a die impression geometry, evaluation of the metal utilization factor, deforming force (forging load), etc.).
    5. Six (6) hours are given to complete the task.

The ceremony started with Saraswati Vandana and lighting of the lamp. Shri. Deepak Mukadam, chief guest of the ceremony, Dr. J. W. Bakal, Principal of Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology guided the graduates through their speech and handed the degree certificate to the graduates along with the Ms. Rohini Bhosale, HoD of Computer Engineering. 100 graduates attended the ceremony. Event was graced by their parents, relatives and friends. The ceremony was concluded with vote of thanks.
