    CSI PHCET organised a comprehensive Orientation program and Domain discovery event titled “ORIENTATION PROGRAM : DOMAIN DISCOVERY”. The event aimed at second year students to introduce them to the club’s mission, structure, and activities while providing exposure to various domains within computer science.     The program commenced with a warm welcome address, followed by an in-depth overview of the club’s organization and ongoing initiatives. The highlight of the event was the interactive domain discovery session. Participants were introduced to a diverse range of fields within computer science, including Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning, Android Development, Cloud Computing and Web development. Experienced Faculty members facilitated these sessions, sharing their knowledge and expertise. The Orientation program received overwhelmingly positive feedback from participants, who expressed appreciation for the opportunity to explore different domains and connect with like-minded peers. The event served as a catalyst for students to set clear academic and career goals while fostering a strong sense of belonging within the CSI PHCET community.

    The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, allowing attendees to seek clarification on any doubts or queries. The orientation program not only facilitated a smooth onboarding process for new members but also ignited their passion for computer science. With a strong foundation laid, CSI PHCET looks forward to a year filled with innovative projects, collaborative learning, and personal growth.

    The orientation program for second year students was held on 12th July, 2024. 95 students attended the program. The gathering was addressed by Prof. Rohini Bhosale, Head of Computer Department, explaining in brief about the vision and mission of the department including different activities and events being conducted. Detailed teaching and examination scheme of Sem III and Sem IV was explained in the orientation by Ms. Rupali Patil, Syllabus of Mini Project 1A and 1B was explained by Ms. Snehal Chitale (SE Miniproject Coordinator ), different activities and clubs related information was given by Ms. Srijita Bhattacharjee and Ms. Ekta Ukey and the event was concluded by vote of thanks through Ms. Dhanashri Sakhare.

    This year due to the University Exams and the General Elections in India, the International Students Olympiad on Metal Forming Processes was held on 10th June, 2024 at the PHCET at the CAD lab, Engineering building, PHCET, Rasayani. Fifteen students originally registered for participating in the event. Out of Fifteen Nine students were selected who had participated in the practice sessions every Saturday during the month of April 2024 under the guidance of Dr. R. C. Prasad & Mr. Saurabh Sirsikar. Mr. Dhiraj Mishra, Business Development Manager interacted with participants and through Zoom meeting form Delhi on behalf of QFX Simulations Limited, Russia. The lunch was served in the R&D Innovation Lab that was sponsored by the Society for Failure Analysis Mumbai Chapter

    The students should provide the following information according to the results of their tasks:
    A summary table with the description of their work

    Write a report with the description of performing the task and its results, including calculations, justifications and conclusions. QForm simulation was a supporting tool.

    Final evaluation will take into consideration Quality, Validity & applied approaches in decision making besides:

    1. Selection of equipment (performance evaluation, power and energy parameters).
    2. Analysis of possible defects in the forged piece.
    3. Analysis of wear resistance and strength of die tooling.
    4. Selection of the optimal work piece, selection of forging operations (number of the operations, a
      die impression geometry, evaluation of the metal utilization factor, deforming force (forging
      Load), etc.).
    5. Six (6) hours are given to complete the task.

    The event was organized by the Third-Year student for their seniors. The farewell party was held at the college auditorium, which was transformed into a stunning venue with colorful decorations. The stage was beautifully decorated with balloons and lights, creating a festive ambiance.

    as award ceremony of Best Performer of the Batch. This award is given to the graduating student in honor for his/her performance in academic achievements and extracurricular contributions during four years of graduation. RAI RAJAT JAIPRAKASH and BHILARE RUSHIKESH VILAS is awarded with the Best Performer of the Batch from Computer Engineering. He was presented with trophy certificates, and mementos. Best Performer of the Batch is awarded to the student who excelled in various fields such as academics, cultural activities, leadership, and community service. RAI RAJAT and BHILARE RUSHIKESH overwhelmed with pride and joy as he walked up to the stage to receive his well-deserved recognition.

    The farewell party was also an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to share heartfelt messages and bid farewell to the graduating batch. Many students and faculty members delivered emotional farewell speeches, reminiscing about their time in college and expressing their best wishes for the future.

    Apart from the performances, the farewell party had several entertainment activities, including a photo booth, where students captured fun memories with their friends.

    The event ended with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone who had contributed to the success of the farewell party.

    Description:

    The IDE bootcamp comprised of various training and activation sessions and workshops on product design, ergonomics design thinking and pitching skills to thrive in today’s dynamic business landscape. Participants had the opportunity to delve into various product design methodologies, foster design thinking concepts, and gain invaluable experience.

    Competitions offer students hands-on experience in applying theoretical knowledge to practical problems. They provide an opportunity for students to work on projects from conception to execution, gaining valuable skills in project management, problem-solving, and teamwork along the way.

    Contents:
    The Department of Information Technology, Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology organized a project competition and poster presentation “Tech Vision 2024” for BE students on 3rd April, 2024 under ISTE Student Chapter. The event commenced at 11:00 a.m. in the Project Lab IT department, with an enthusiastic turnout of students, faculty members, and industry professionals. The day-long event consisted of two main components: poster presentations and project demonstrations.

    Each poster highlighted the objectives, methodologies, results, and conclusions of the respective projects. Judges comprising faculty members and industry experts evaluated the posters based on criteria such as innovation, technical merit, clarity of presentation, and the potential impact of the research. Participants enthusiastically engaged with the judges, discussing their projects in detail and answering questions. Students demonstrated their projects to judges and attendees, providing insights into the development process, technical challenges faced, and the practical applications of their work. The projects covered diverse domains, including web development, mobile applications, IoT (Internet of Things) solutions, and more.

    Judges evaluated the projects based on criteria such as technical complexity, functionality, user experience, innovation, and potential real-world impact. Participants demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, and a deep understanding of IT principles and technologies. The day concluded with an award ceremony at 4:30 p.m., where winners of the poster presentation and project competition were announced. The top-performing 3 teams and individuals received certificates, and cash prizes as tokens of recognition for their outstanding achievements. The event was coordinated by Ms. Rupali Sathe and Ms. Trapti Soni.

    Event Outcome:

    Students from SE, TE, and BE attended the workshop. Mr. Imran Khan, Prime Minister’s Research Fellow at IIT Bombay, served as the resource person. He delivered a detailed introduction on the diverse opportunities and prospects within the engineering field. The discussion encompassed topics such as the GATE examination, pursuing a Ph.D. at IIT post-B.E., and exploring career options abroad after graduation. Emphasizing the pivotal role of career guidance, he elucidated how it aids in setting future objectives and selecting career paths. Additionally, he shared insights from his interview experience at Tesla and elaborated on post-doctoral opportunities overseas. The session concluded with students addressing their uncertainties through various questions, commonly encountered during career decision-making. The students and faculty members left the session feeling highly motivated and enlightened about the array of opportunities awaiting them post-graduation. It proved to be an informative day for all attendees.

    Panel of Judges include Dr. Mansi Subhedar and Dr. Manvendra Vashishtha. Judgement was done based on literature survey, conceptual study, practical implementation and social cause.

    After successful assessment, Design methodology for solar power system was declared winner and project Medicine delivery drone was declared as Runner for whom certificate and trophy was awarded. Participation certificate was given to all candidates participated in competition
