    80 participants attended the online session conducted on the platform of Google Meet. The webinar gave insights of Effective paper writing in various International Conferences and peer reviewed Journals. The significance of writing paper and publishing for the author was focused. Art of writing paper and citing the contents was also covered. Various IEEE, Springer conferences and Journals for publishing the work was also discussed. Method of writing paper from Abstract to conclusion was also covered. Various methods to apply problem definition were also discussed. Session was an interactive session and solved all the queries from the participants. Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. J. Nalavade. He expressed gratitude to all for making a successful event.

    Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering under had successfully conducted an Online Webinar on “C for Everyone: Programming Fundamentals Part: I” on 1st July, 2020.

    The speaker for webinar was Ms. Rajshree Aneesh from department of computer engineering. Total 30 students from EXTC department attended this webinar. This was an introductory session to the basic course on C Programming. This session was an eye-opener for those who have an aversion towards the courses containing a programming component. The session motivated the participants to inculcate the Programming skills and also to master the art of Programming over the period of time.

    1. The need to learn a Computer Programming Language.
    2. Introduction to C Programming Language.
    3. How to inculcate/develop logical thinking skills required for programming.

The speaker have emphasized on following points. Focus on behavior, as it is important in long run to achieve success. Be multi-talented avoid doing multitasking as brain can concentrate only on one task at a time. To get 100% success mind and body needs to be together. By giving real time example and stories the speaker have captured all participant’s attention throughout the session. The main objective of the webinar was to make participant “know thyself” also make them realize what are there strengths and area of improvement which they understood by end of the session.

    The session ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Ashok Kanthe, Head of Computer Engineering Department. Feedback link was sent to the participants and E-Certificate was mailed to their registered mail ids. Positive feedback was received from participants.

The event was organised by Cyber security club of Department of Computer Engineering, Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology in association with RedTeam Hacker Academy, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. RedTeam Hacker Academy is a well known cyber security training academy in Kerala. The expert speaker of the lecture was Mr. Gokul Alex. Mr Gokul Alex is an engineer, economist and key note speaker for various technology conferences. The security aspects of the cloud infrastructure were presented well in the lecture.

    The guest speaker took over the session with awareness that we all are surrounded by machine learning as we are surfing net , movies , songs come in feed as per our interest and latest search. Sir explained types of machine learning, its association with Artificial Intelligence and its advantages. Sir has given example of spam mail as how machine is identifying inbox mail and after comparison and history it diverts to spam mail Sir has demonstrated various videos explaining how machine learning works in real life. Sir has shown few hardware projects done by him which makes students anxious to ask questions. Final year students asked Sir about project ideas in field of Machine learning. Prof. Ronita Pawn Mam concluded the session with vote of thanks to Speaker and Heads of Institution.

    The objective of the webinar was to bring out the importance of yoga for emotional balance by giving information about training the subconscious mind. Dr. Rashmi Manjunath Nookala, M.D. (Ayurveda), PGDYTD (Yoga), M.A. in Child Mental Health, Ayurveda and Yoga Consultant, Parivartan Ayuryoga Wellness centre was invited as a resource person. Dr. Rashmi explained the importance of Yoga and its impact on the mind, body and spirit of a human being. She has also explained remedies for personal health problems to the participants. The session concluded with an interactive session between the Dr. Rrashmi and the participants in which the queries of the participants were addressed satisfactorily. The session was very refreshing, reviving and relaxing.

    As per the culture of Pillai’s HOC College of Engineering, Department of Computer Engineering organizes various Technical Workshops for aspirants assembling with various interests in the field with a very high competitive spirit to participants and with the strong determination to include their achievements & accomplishments to their resumes.

    In this pandemic situation, we have organized an Online Workshop on “Hybrid Application Development Using: Iconic 5.0 and Angular 9” on 27th June, 2020. This workshop was conducted by Mr. Hussain Manasawala; Assistant system Engineer in TCS as a Hybrid App Developer. He is a Certified Information Security & Ethical Hacker from Pristine Infosolutions , Certified Penetration Tester Expert (CPTE) from Pristine Infosolutions. He has also done GNIIT (Graduate from National Institute of Information Technology) course from NIIT (National Institute of Information Technology). He has worked on several java projects with database connectivity and also has a good experience with linux and windows operating systems.

    Basically Hybrid apps are a blend, hence the name hybrid, of both native and web solutions. Where the core of the application is written using web technologies. In this workshop we dive deep into hybrid app technology. Also the Ionic Framework is an open source mobile UI toolkit for building high quality, cross-platform native and web app experiences. Move faster with a single codebase, running everywhere. 95 students participated in this workshop.
