Dr. Prashant Lokhande have delivered many expert talks on the topic of How to file patent, Copyright, Cyber security, online women security, Cybercrimes against common man, Online frauds, Netbanking frauds, Threats through social media etc at various Schools, colleges, Rotract Clubs, and delivered talks in UGC MHRDC, Mumbai University programs.

    Total 58 students and faculty members have participated the session. The expert commenced the session by explaining what cybercrime is, history of cybercrime, types of cybercrime. He gave our students insights about how criminals collect personal data and exploit it to harm people. The expert gave live demo to students about data collection like fetching user details through mobile number and vehicle number. He also told how one can be protected from various cyber-attack and how we can check whether our email id is compromised or not. The main objective of the webinar was to make participants aware about different cybercrimes that occur in day to day life and how one can be protected from the same, which participants understood by end of the session.

    The session ended with Question Answer and vote of thanks by Ms. Rohini Bhosale, Head of Computer Engineering department. Feedback link was sent to the participants and E-Certificate was mailed to their registered mail ids. Positive feedback was received from participants.

    Robotics Webinar

    An exclusive webinar session for all engineering disciplines was organised by Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, PHCET, Rasayani on the topic “Robotics” in collaboration with Global IOT School (Technoriya Group) on Saturday, 24th July, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The webinar was attended by 66+ faculty and students of various disciplines of engineering.

    The main objective of webinar was to explore future trends and the available sources for performing simulations in Robotics. The session started with introduction to microcontroller, its architecture. Students were introduced to embedded C programming and various sensors. Interfacing of sensors and motor drive with the Arduino Uno microcontroller for building various robots like line follower, obstacle detector etc. was discussed using Tinkercad. Webinar highlights include the requirements of next generation robotic systems. Topics discussed also include Arduino RC robot, motor rotation and its speed control, programming of the Arduino, Arduino controlling a DC motor using H-bridge. Session ended with QA session. Feedback submitted by audience confirmed the effectiveness of the session.

    Department of Civil Engineering, Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology organizes Indian Society for Technical Education(ISTE) approved Short Term Training Program on “Emerging Technologies in Civil and Infrastructure Engineering for Sustainable Development” in association with Institute of Engineer’s India (IEI): Belapur local chapter, Indian Society of Remote Sensing(ISRS): Mumbai Chapter, Association of Structural Rehabilitation(ASTR): Mumbai Chapter and Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) from 12th to 17th July, 2021. Eminent speakers from academic, various field of Civil and construction industry delivered their lecture. This Short-Term Training Program aims to enlighten about the recent trends and the challenges faced in the diversified fields of Civil Engineering. It also aims to deliberate on and discuss the various recent applications and innovative methods applied in the field of Civil Engineering. U.G, P.G. Students & Ph.D. research scholars from Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, faculty from Engineering, Polytechnic, Architecture Institutions, delegates from Industries and R & D Organizations of various states attended the program. The sessions were conducted by eminent speakers through ZOOM platform. The registration link was shared with students and faculty all over India and the total registration for the program was 526. Link for each session was shared with registered participants via mail, what’s-app group and Telegram group. Participants provided their feedback everyday through the link shared with them. Certificate was awarded to all participants who attended the sessions and gave feedback.
