    1. What is Solar Energy?

    HackOverflow 2.0, a Three-Day National-Level Hackathon organized by the Department of Computer Engineering of Pillai HOC College of Engineering & Technology, Rasayani, from March 14 to March 16, 2024. The event aimed to provide a platform for aspiring technologists to showcase their skills, collaborate with peers, and tackle real-world technology challenges.

    HackOverflow 2.0 saw enthusiastic participation from students representing various colleges and universities across the country from 15+ states. 67 teams Over the course of three days, participants worked tirelessly in teams to ideate, innovate, and develop solutions aligned with the theme of “Smart City.” With access to state-of-the-art facilities and mentorship from industry experts, the event fostered an environment conducive to creativity and problem-solving.

    The event featured a series of evaluation rounds, networking sessions and mentorship opportunities, providing participants with valuable insights and guidance from industry experts. Participants had access to cutting-edge technologies and resources to develop their projects, enhancing their learning experience and skill development. Collaboration and teamwork were emphasized, fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing and fellowship among participants. The hackathon concluded with presentations and demonstrations of the projects developed by the participating teams, highlighting their innovative solutions and problem-solving abilities.

    Distinguished guests and judges from Google graced the event, providing invaluable insights and guidance to participants. Chief Guest Mr. Anjani Kumar Thakur and Guest of Honour Ms. Nikita Gandhi honored the occasion with their presence. The judging panel, comprising Mr. Nitin Tiwari, Mr. Vaibhav Malpani, and Mr. Sumit Kumar, brought extensive experience and expertise to evaluate the projects.

    The sponsors for HackOverflow 2.0 included Bobble Fanstore, TVS-Priyanka, Aptech Learning Panvel, Golden Oriole Education, Languify, Quill Bot, Scribor, City Samosa, Mannasreksha Enterprises, Sakal, and Noticebard, which doubled the program’s glory.

    In the excellent success of HackOverflow 2.0, Pillai Institute’s Chairman Dr. Vasudevan Pillai, Dr. Daphne Pillai, Dr. Priyam Pillai, Prof. Munawira Pillai, Mr. Franav Pillai, Dr. Lata Menon, the proficient guidance of Principal Dr. J.W. Bakal and the excellent leadership of the Computer Department’s HOD, Prof. Rohini Bhosale, Faculty Coordinators Prof. Abhijeet More and Prof. Srijita Bhattacharjee, and other teachers have significantly contributed. Final year students Utkarsha Chaudhari lead the college’s GDSC club, and Shivam Modhave, a remarkable student, lead the event HackOverflow 2.0.

    HackOverflow 2.0 was not just a competition but a celebration of innovation, collaboration, and ingenuity. The event provided participants with a platform to push the boundaries of technology and create solutions that have the potential to shape the future. HackOverflow 2.0 was a resounding success, bringing together young technologists and innovators to explore, ideate, and create solutions for building smarter cities.

    Event Outcome

    The event commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. J.W. Bakal, Principal of PHCET. His words set the tone for an engaging and informative session. Dr. G. V. Patil, Head of the Mechanical Department, shared exciting prospects for upcoming events and career opportunities through the ISNEE PHCET students’ chapter. Mr. Saurabh Sirsikar, the ISNEE faculty coordinator, encouraged the participants and emphasized the importance of practical learning.

    After the introductory session, the speakers Mr. Ashwath S K, Mr. Suyog Mhatre, Mr. Yash Gawand unfolded various topics during the workshop. The following are some of the topics discussed in the session by the speakers:

    Components of Engine:

    • Participants learned about the intricate components that make up a bike engine.
    • Interactive discussions and visual aids helped clarify concepts.

    Engine Functionality:

    • Through actual demonstrations, attendees witnessed how an engine operates.

    Department of Civil Engineering, Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology, organized seminar on “Basics of Concrete Mix Design” and “Advancement in Concrete Technology” on 12th March, 2024. An eminent speakers for the program were Mr. Sanjeev Raje, Vice President (Technical) Navdeep Construction Co. and Mr. Ibrahim Shaikh, National Concrete Technical & Sr. Product Manager Sika. The session started with opening notes and welcoming of guests by the program coordinator. The main objective of this seminar was to enable students about basic mix design of concrete which forms a very important part of concrete technology and also to know the advancements which are happening in concrete industry which are trending in the market.

    Resource person explained in detail regarding various steps involved in mix design and discussed regarding parameters to be considered for different zones and exposure conditions. He also explained use of Concrete Mix Design for the different grades and types of Concrete. Mr. Ibrahim Shaikh explained regarding trending technology Ultra High Performance Fibre Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) composition, uses and advantages. Emerging admixtures for enhancing the properties of concrete were also discussed with students. Question answer session was held towards the end of the session. 90+ students had attended this seminar. The session was conducted by eminent speakers in 3rd Floor Seminar Hall, Engineering Building.
