Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai HOC College of Engineering & Technology, Rasayani conducted a Project Hackathon – “MAVERICK” on 7th December, 2019. Students were invited from 8th, 9th and 10th class in school category competition and 11th and 12th class in college category competition.

The main objective of MAVERICK competition was to provide a creative platform for students and to enable them to think out of Box and design innovative models which can be used practically.

The theme was Save Environment for school students and Energy Conservation for college students. Students built models on Air or Water Purification, Home Artifacts and Electricity Generations from waste products. Under Energy Conservations theme students built models for converting Hydro to Electricity, Solar to Electricity and Wind to Electricity. In this competition more than 500 students participated. 28 schools and 6 junior colleges participated in this event. The event was a grand success and was highly appreciated by both students and teachers of all participating schools and junior colleges. In school category, KES Karjat bagged 1st prize, while 2nd prize was earned by M. V. School, Phoperi and 3rd prize was bagged by T. T. Patil, Tinvera and Saint Mary JNPT, Uran. In college category JSM College, Alibaug bagged the 1st prize while 2nd prize was won by Pillai HOC School, Rasayani and the 3rd prize was earned by S. R. Datar College Chondi Alibaug.

This event was conducted in Association with Indian Society of Remote Sensing (Mumbai Chapter). Cash prizes worth 1 Lac and certificates were given to winners and participants.
