Green concrete mix design makes more effective use of the cement binder. Aggregates replace excess cement paste to give improved stability, less shrinkage and increase in strength & durability. Less cement also generates less heat of hydration. The objective of this International Symposium was to focus on some important characteristics of “Green Concrete Aggregates and Cementitious Materials”.

Following are the details of the resource person.
Dr. Gilson Lomboy,
D.ENG, Ph.D., P.E., Assistant Professor
Civil & Environmental Engineering
Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering, Rowan University, Glassboro, New Jersey

The webinar was inaugurated with a virtual prayer and a lamp-lighting ceremony. Dr. Shilpa Kewate, convener made the opening comments. She greeted the attendees and introduced the committee members. Welcome address was proposed by Mr. Raju Narvade, HOD of Civil Department of Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology, Rasayani.

The session was started by the keynote speaker Dr. Gilson Lomboy. He had briefly explained the key concepts of Green concrete aggregates and Cementitious materials, Characteristics of green aggregates, Stability of green concrete structures. The session concluded with an interactive session between the resource persons and the participants in which the queries of the participants were addressed satisfactorily.
