The Student Chapter Committee of Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) at Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai’s HOC College of Engineering & Technology, Rasayani has conducted an international symposium on “Green Building: Facts and Myths” on 28th February 2021, Sunday at 2:30 p.m. IST.

Total 156 participants from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Gujarat, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand and Rajasthan Delhi had registered for this international symposium.

Over the past few years, the idea of green buildings has gained popularity, but still many myths still exist regarding “Green building”. The objective of the International symposium was to bust some myths on green building and avoid the misleading statement.

Welcome address was proposed by Dr. T. J. Mathew, Principal, Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology, Rasayani and he emphasized the urgency of the concept to achieve the goal of sustainability. Critical issues for achieving green building from both engineering and architectural point of view and case studies of green building in Indonesia were explained by Ar. Denny Setiawan in the symbiosis.

The session concluded with an interactive session between the resource persons and the participants in which the queries of the participants were addressed satisfactorily.
