Department of Civil Engineering along with Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) student’s chapter conducted an Intercollegiate Virtual Poster Making Competition on 18th October, 2020 at 4.30 p.m. Students were asked to express their ideas through sketches or digital graphical illustration. The aim behind conducting this competition was to check the creative and artistic skills of the students. Total 26 participants from Philippines, Tamilnadu, West Bengal, Delhi and Maharashtra actively participated in this competition.

The suggested theme of the competition was:

“Future of sustainable construction industry posts the COVID-19 Pandemic”
Following parameters were considered for this theme

  • Health and safety of workers
  • Product delays
  • Nervous consumers and investors
  • Travel prohibition and quarantines
  • Legal matters, and labour shortages
  • Structural design changes
  • Proper space utilization

Welcome address was proposed by Dr.T.J.Mathew Principal, Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology, Rasayani. The posters were assessed on the basis of rubrics such as relevance to theme, design, Implementation to solution, Creativity & oral presentation. It was a great opportunity to watch these young minds creating and displaying their ideas. It was an interesting session for the students as they participated in the competition with great enthusiasm.
