DepartmentTo understand the fundamentals of IoT architecture and sensor technology.
To learn the working principles of various sensors used in IoT systems.
To interface sensors with microcontrollers such as Arduino Uno through hands-on practice.
Event ObjectiveAfter successful completion of the workshop, participants were able to:
Understand the architecture of IoT systems and the role of sensor technologies.
Interface different sensors with Arduino Uno and acquire real-time sensor data.
Develop a strong foundation for designing basic IoT applications using sensor-based systems.

The IETE Student Forum of the Department of Electronics and Computer Science organized a hands-on workshop on “Sensors and Interfacing for IoT Applications” on 24th July 2026 for Second Year ECS students.

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Mithun G. Nair, an expert in sensor technology and Internet of Things (IoT), who guided the participants through the fundamentals and practical aspects of sensor interfacing for IoT applications. Around 50 students actively participated in the workshop.

The workshop successfully achieved its objectives by providing students with practical exposure to IoT hardware, sensor interfacing, and embedded programming. The interactive hands-on sessions enhanced the participants’ technical skills and strengthened their understanding of real-world IoT applications. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Head of the Department Dr. Mansi Subhedar madam expressing gratitude to the resource person for sharing his valuable knowledge and expertise.
