Department of Civil Engineering organized an Expert Lecture on “Green Building Technology for Sustainable Development” on 5th February, 2020. The session was conducted for ME Construction Engineering and Management students. The lecture was delivered by Dr. C. J. Rao, Dy. Engineer, MHADA. The session dealt in the basics of Green Building its design, construction and operation. He also added that by the year 2050, residential, institutional and commercial buildings are expected to consume as much as 38% of global energy production and to release about 3800 megatons of carbon in the atmosphere. The only solution in sight seems to be -“Going Green”. There were 24 participants for the session.
