Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology (PHCET) celebrated Community Service Day on January 25, 2025, by hosting over 80 children from Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Vashivali. The children enjoyed a memorable day filled with food, fun, and learning. The staff and students of PHCET organized various activities, competitions, and games, creating an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm as the children eagerly participated.

Dr. Daphne Pillai, Chairperson of the Management Board of Mahatma Education Society and Co-Founder of the Pillai Group of Institutions, emphasized the organization’s commitment to expanding its community service initiatives on a larger scale and reaching out to underprivileged members of society. She also stressed the importance of instilling a sense of pride among both students and faculty for their role in serving the less fortunate. Following the formal inauguration, guests and dignitaries interacted with the children by visiting various classrooms. A range of engaging activities, including singing, dancing, drawing, painting, and sketching, was organized for the younger children. The energy and excitement in the air were palpable as everyone participated in the festivities with great enthusiasm.

Dr. J.W. Bakal, Principal of PHCET, honored the guests during the event. In the evening, the children were served snacks, and as a token of appreciation, each child and their accompanying caretaker received gifts. By 5:30 p.m., college buses transported them back to their respective destinations, marking the end of a fulfilling and unforgettable day that will remain in their hearts and memories for a long time.
