Event Objective :
The objective of this event was to create awareness about transitioning the construction and building sector toward a zero-carbon and resilient future, and to encourage students to express their thoughts on sustainable development.
Event Outcome :
Students understood the importance of sustainable building practices and gained awareness about the role of civil engineers in enabling a greener and more resilient built environment.
Description of Event:
The Student Chapter Committee of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) at Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai HOC College of Engineering & Technology, Rasayani, organized an Elocution Competition on the theme ‘Building the Transition’ on 25 September 2024.
The event aimed to inspire young civil engineering students to think critically about the future of sustainable infrastructure and the transition towards a low-carbon built environment. A total of 22 students actively participated in the competition, presenting thoughtful speeches on environmental responsibility, green construction, and innovative approaches for sustainable development.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation, showcasing students’ communication skills and their understanding of sustainable engineering practices.
