National Constitution Day was celebrated at Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology, Pillai HOCL Educational Campus, Rasayani on 26th November, 2022 to commemorate the adoption of the Indian Constitution. A Seminar on the topic “Constitutional values and fundamental principles of Indian constitution” was organized to cherish the glory and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the ideology of the great Indian constitution. Faculties and students from different departments and NSS volunteers attended the seminar. A total of 93 students, 37 faculty members and 10 non-teaching staff of the institute participated in this event.

The seminar started with the speech of Dr. Avinash Gatade a faculty member from the department of Applied Sciences and Humanities (ASH). He explained in detail the meaning of the Constitution, the Preamble, the Five-year Plan and the Directive Principles.

The second speaker Mr. K. Priyesh Raghavan, Head of the History department from Pillai HOC College of Arts, Science and Commerce (PHCASC), Rasayani delivered a seminar on Constitutional values and fundamental principles of the Indian constitution. During the talk, the speaker explained in detail the need and history of the constitution. He had also given information about the people behind the Constitution of India, the Role of the Judiciary in the Constitution Procedure for amending the constitution Basic rights and responsibilities of an Indian citizen as per our constitution, the Preamble of the constitution and Challenges the Constitution of India.

The Principal, Dr. Jagdish Bakal sir encouraged the students to abide by the Constitution. He emphasized the importance of Constitution Day, and the significance of its celebration and commemorated the people who contributed to the development of the Indian constitution. Principal sir has motivated the students to reaffirm their commitment to upholding the ideology laid down in the Indian Constitution.

An important part of the celebrations was reading the Preamble and reaffirming our commitment to upholding it. Students and teachers read the Preamble. The entire campus reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian Constitution by taking the pledge.
