The Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology held Inaugural Ceremony of Computer Society of India – Student Branch and Seminar on Project Based Learning on Saturday, 20th August, 2016. The inaugural ceremony started with a warm welcome of the dignitaries. The dignitaries included Mrs. Munawira Kotyad Pillai, Dr. Vikas Shinde, Dr. Ashok Kanthe.

After the warm welcome, the ceremony started with a short video on the events held under department of Computer Engineering, where students of the college had showcased their talent and technical skills. After the short video, the dignitaries moved on for the actual inauguration of CSI. Chief guest Dr. Vikas Shinde did the honor of lighting the lamp and cut the ribbon to start a new episode of floods of technical knowledge and seminars under banner of CSI.

The inaugural ceremony of CSI also leads to launch of the first Technical magazine “TREK-THE-TECH” under department of Computer Engineering.

Under the banner of Computer Society of India (CSI), a seminar was conducted by the Chief Guest Dr. Vikas Shinde on the topic “Project Based Learning”. Then he showed some inspirational examples of other students who worked on the PBL scheme and achieved great height in the field of Computer Science and contributed a lot to the society. Hence he motivated the students by giving ideas and showing some live examples ensuring that if one uses the Project Based Learning scheme, the seminar was concluded with some motivational thoughts by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

At the end of the ceremony, Mrs. Ekta Ukey gave vote of thanks to the dignitaries and the Chief Guest for his special guidelines on Project Based Learning.
