Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology (PHCET), Rasayani, virtually celebrated Indian Constitution Day on 26th November, 2020 via Google meet – a virtual platform. Constitution Day or Samvidhan Divas was celebrated in PHCET to honor the chief architect and father of Indian Constitution, Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar.

The program commenced with a welcome note to all the participants and significance of Constitution Day initiated by Ms. Poonam Patil. Dr. Gajendra Patil, Head of Mechanical Department, read out the preamble and requested the participants to recite the oath after him. He briefly explained the history and the story behind the Indian constitution. Dr. Manvendra Vashishth, Head of Applied Sciences and Humanities Department, delivered a talk on the formation of constitution, the role of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar in establishing powerful Indian constitution and its status as a longest written constitution across the globe. He sensitized audience about the importance of the day with a strapping slogan at the end of his speech. Dr. Ashok Kanthe, Head of Computer Department, expressed his thoughts on fundamental rights and duties of Indian citizen. He emphasized on spectacular work of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, and the role of judiciary in Indian constitution.

Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. Raju Narwade, Head of Civil Department. He thanked Principal, Dr. T.J. Mathew for his constant support and motivation, all the speakers for their invaluable words, the organizing team and coordinators for their efforts, faculty and students for their buoyant response and participation.

At the end of the program, students were informed to join the Google form link (forwarded on social media platforms like whatapp and Gmail) and participate in the ‘Constitution Day Awareness Quiz’ organized by NSS unit of M.E.S. PHCET. Post – program students attempted the quiz and received an E-Certificate for their participation.
