Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai HOC College of Engineering & Technology strives to foster a sense of caring and commitment as part of its education of students with the hope that they will incorporate community service in their professional and personal lives. Students individually volunteer their time to community outreach programs that respond to the needs of the sick, elderly, disabled, poor, homeless, young and school-aged.

Mahatma Education Society organizes Community Service Day to reach out to many underprivileged people in our society to bring smile to their faces. This year the Community Service Day was held on 25th January, 2020 from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, New Panvel. Like every year this year too Pillai HOC College of Engineering & Technology, Rasayani actively participated in it. This year the college invited 65 inmates (divided into two groups Group 1 – 30 kids & Group 2 – 35 kids) and 5 caretakers from Aroma Kids Kingdom located at Turbhe. In the morning students and staff picked up the inmates and the caretaker from the orphanage. On their arrival at Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Campus, New Panvel they were provided with delicious lunch. Later the staff and students of the college entertained them. Drawing Competition, Painting competition, lemon on the spoon, musical chair Songs and Dance performances by both the students as well as faculty were organized. Dr. Madhumita Chatterjee, Principal, PHCET felicitated the inmates. In the evening the inmates were provided snacks. In the end every inmate and accompanying caretaker was provided with gifts as a token of love.
