Event Objective:
  • To provide participants with exposure to emerging Internet standards and digital policy frameworks.
  • To offer hands-on sessions for practical skill development in real-world Internet technologies.
Event Outcome:Empowered participants with technical skills and practical exposure through hands-on sessions.

The AIROI–2 National Workshop was jointly organized by the India Internet Foundation in collaboration with the IEEE Industry Academia Young Professionals Committee (IAYPC 2025), with the support of MeitY, NIXI, Internet Society, IEEE IC, and other esteemed partners. The workshop was successfully held on 2nd September 2025 in online mode.

Dr. Mansi Subhedar, National Coordinator of the workshop and IAYPC Core Committee member, addressed the participants. The technical sessions were led by Mr. Anand Raje, Founder, IIFON, while Dr. Mansi Subhedar conducted practical sessions on campus. The workshop served as a platform for students, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange knowledge, and gain practical exposure to the latest developments in Internet standards and the digital ecosystem.

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary, IG Division, MeitY, who shared valuable policy insights and the government’s vision for strengthening the digital ecosystem. Mr. Dhruv Dhody, Internet Architecture Board, presented a session on Internet architecture and standards, emphasizing interoperability and global best practices. Mr. Abhijyan Bhattacharyya, Senior Scientist, TCS, shared perspectives on cutting-edge technological advancements and emerging research directions.

The sessions focused on Internet standards, equipping participants with in-depth technical knowledge and practical understanding. Hands-on sessions further engaged participants in real-world applications and technical exercises, enhancing their problem-solving and implementation skills.

During the workshop, the problem statements for the Hackathon were released, encouraging participants to develop innovative solutions to real-world digital challenges.

The AIROI–2 National Workshop proved to be an inspiring and impactful event, successfully combining policy insights, technical depth, and practical experience. With the active involvement of distinguished speakers, supporting organizations, and enthusiastic participants, the workshop not only deepened knowledge but also ignited innovation—paving the way for future contributions to India’s digital growth and global Internet leadership.
