On 5th April 2025, the Department of Computer Engineering at Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology organized “TECH-EXPO 2.0”, a multifaceted event aimed at showcasing the innovative skills of students in technical paper presentations, poster presentations, and project competitions. This event combined activities for students at various levels (SE, TE, and BE) to engage in constructive academic exchanges and present their research and projects.

Event Overview:
TECH-EXPO 2.0 included a mix of competitions that offered participants a platform to demonstrate their academic achievements. The event featured:

  • Technical Paper Presentations: BE students presented research papers on various topics, engaging in intellectual discussions with the judges and peers.
  • Poster Presentations: Students showcased their innovative ideas on large-format posters, providing an interactive experience for attendees.
  • Project Competition: SE, TE, and BE students displayed their projects, providing practical solutions to real-world problems.

Resource Persons and Experts:

The event was graced by industry experts, including Mr. Pranay Vartak, who shared insights from the industry regarding the types of projects commonly handled in real-world scenarios. The panel of judges for the different segments included Ms. Pooja Shukre and Ms. Ekta Ukey for the paper presentation, Mr. Pranay Vartak for the poster presentation, and Mr. Amir Shaikh, Mr. Pranay Vartak, and Ms. Pooja Shukre for the project competition.

Schedule of Events:

  • 11:00 AM – 11:15 AM: Inauguration
  • 11:15 AM – 11:30 AM: Address by Dr. Rajashree Gadhave, HOD of Computer Engineering
  • 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM: Poster and Paper Presentations
  • 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch Break
  • 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM: Project Competition
  • 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM: Declaration of Winners
  • 4:30 PM – 4:45 PM: Vote of Thanks

After the inauguration, Dr. Rajashree Gadhave, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, addressed the students. She emphasized the importance of selecting meaningful and impactful projects, stressing how such projects could significantly enhance their professional careers.

In addition, Dr. Jagdish W. Bakal, Principal of PHCET shared his thoughts on the significance of projects in a student’s academic and professional growth. He encouraged the students to focus on innovative and real-world solutions, highlighting how hands-on project experience plays a crucial role in shaping their future careers.

Mr. Pranay Vartak, Industry expert has emphasized the importance of projects in shaping a student’s academic and career development. He outlined several crucial points regarding how projects contribute to both personal and professional growth.

The evaluation was based on multiple factors, including literature surveys, conceptual studies, practical implementations, and the social impact of the projects. This approach ensured that the projects were assessed not only on their technical merits but also on their real-world relevance.

Event Feedback:

The event received a positive response, especially from the final-year students who participated in the poster presentations and Paper presentation. Students appreciated the clarity with which concepts were explained, and the feedback was overwhelmingly favorable. The event provided valuable insights that students can apply in their future projects and career pursuits.
