Women Development Cell organized “Self Defense Training program” on 7th March, 2024 for girl students and teaching staff to create awareness among them about their safety and importance of self-defense. Mr. Sachin Mali, (4th Dan black belt South Korea, national referee and national coach, Mumbai university team coach, winner of Rasayani Bhushan Award 2013 and Raigad Bhushan Purskar 2018/19) gave Practical Training session on self-defense.
This Program covered basic exercise, hand holding techniques, defense against snatching techniques, defense for front and back attacks, etc. With the growing crimes committed against women in India this practical workshop empowered women with the necessary skills and the power to defend against violence and abuse. It is need of today that everyone should be physically and mentally strong enough to protect herself and overcome in any situation. Practical training was given to girls students and faculty members to learn how to defend ourselves, to understand what a threat is, to learn how to get out of dire, desperate situation, and protect ourselves our loved ones, and our families.
Women’s Development Cell (WDC), Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology, Rasayani has also organized Sports and Cultural Event on the occasion of International Women’s Day on 7th March, 2024 at 11:00 am. Sports like throw ball, chess, carom were organized for both staff and students. Cultural events like Mehendi, Rangoli, Nail Art. Exciting Prizes and Certificate were given at the end of the event. Both faculties and students enjoyed a lot.
