To understand importance of green hydrogen
Learned about diverse applications and challenges of green hydrogen

Department of Electrical Engineering organized a training programme in association with Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI) Shahad on 23rd March, 2024. 24 students and 6 faculties were present for training. The training was delivered by Mr. Sachin Torne certified Green Hydrogen trainer, TPSDI, Shahad. With more than 35 years of industrial experience in engineering, pharmaceutical, and IT domains, he possesses a profound understanding of electrical machines, teaching and learning methodologies, and edtech. The training consists of both theory and hands-on skills. The training session focuses on fundamentals of green hydrogen energy, wherein participants are briefed about fundamentals of green hydrogen. The session also talked about different types of modules and cells. The participants gained knowledge about green hydrogen which should progressively be deployed at large scale alongside the roll-out of new renewable power generation, as technology matures and the costs of its production technologies decrease.

Following Contents were discussed during the Training as follows:

  • Discover consulting offering by Siemens to accelerate your pathway to integrate Green Hydrogen into your operations
  • Gain insights into the electrolyzer grid concept: a complex interplay between the electrolyzer units, power supply, and grid infrastructure
  • Installation of a green hydrogen system.
  • GOI initiatives
  • Safety, standards and regulations
  • Project management, economics and finance of projects, green hydrogen policies.
  • Demonstration of Floating Solar system, Thermal Solar System and Rooftop systems.

The participants gain an overall understanding of the fundamentals, design, management and existing policies relating to green hydrogen.
