A workshop on “LaTeX for Professional and Academic Documents” was conducted for the students of the Department of Electronics and Computer Science on 9th March 2026 from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM. The session was delivered by Dr. Mansi Subhedar, who introduced students to the importance of LaTeX in preparing professional academic documents such as research papers, reports, and theses. The workshop began with an introduction to LaTeX and its advantages over traditional word processors for technical writing. Students were introduced to the basic structure of a LaTeX document, including document classes, packages, and formatting commands. The resource person explained how LaTeX helps in maintaining consistency and high-quality formatting in academic writing.
During the session, students learned how to create and compile LaTeX documents. Demonstrations were provided on inserting mathematical equations, tables, figures, lists, and references. The workshop also covered the use of templates for research papers and project reports, which are commonly required in academic and professional environments. The session was interactive, and students actively participated by trying out various LaTeX commands and document structures.
