Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology, Department of Computer Engineering third year students celebrated Engineer’s Day on 19th September 2024 in honour of Dr. M. Visvesvarayya, a true gem of India and to identify the great works done by our hard working engineers each year. The main objective of the event was to encourage self-evaluation, motivation, effective communication and team building among the students.

Principal Dr. J. W. Bakal Sir, encouraged the students to broaden their perspective and enhance their skills to be successful. Head of Department Dr. Rajeshree Gadhve urged the students to aim to be great engineers with technical skills as well as personal qualities. Mr. Abhijeet More MCA coordinator added that career planning is an on-going process during engineering and students need to be strong technically.
The celebration started with a heartfelt welcome speech by the student representatives, emphasizing the pivotal role engineers play in shaping the future. On this occasion, the best speech was presented by the students on the role of an engineer and his responsibilities towards society. Faculty members share their thoughts for competitive spirit among the budding engineers.
Students performed cultural acts including dances, songs, and skits, all dedicated to the engineer. These performances created a lively and joyful atmosphere, reflecting the appreciation towards the engineers in the society.
As an engineering college principal sir, I wish every engineer should have some social responsibility towards society for the betterment. Every engineer needs to identify the problems in society and try to find the solutions for the problems. Faculty members spoke on this occasion and remembered the importance of engineers to the society. They paid tribute to India’s most respected engineer Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvraya sir.
