The National Service Scheme (NSS) Special Residential Camp at Pillai HOC College of Engineering and Technology took place from 24th to 30th January, 2025 in Posari Thakurwadi, Panvel, and involved 34 volunteers. The camp aimed at enhancing students’ personalities through community service and instilling social responsibility. Activities revolved around cleaning, environmental protection, health services, awareness campaigns, and educational sessions, following the NSS principle of “Not Me But You.”

Day 1 (24th January): The camp began with an introduction by the NSS coordinators and a formal gathering. Volunteers were divided into committees for tasks like event management and cleaning. A session on Maharashtra politics and youth issues was held, followed by a debate competition with villagers.

Day 2 (25th January): The day began with yoga and continued with cleaning activities. Volunteers participated in a session on Financial Literacy and Time Management by Prof. Priya Tambe, followed by a Personality Development session and a talk on the Importance of Savings.

Day 3 (26th January): The camp celebrated Republic Day with a flag-hoisting ceremony and a rally. Later, volunteers attended a session on Snakes and Nature, focusing on ecological balance, followed by games for children.

Day 4 (27th January): Volunteers performed a street play on social issues, and later, an educational session on Report Writing was conducted for village children. A debate and speech competition took place in the evening.

Day 5 (28th January): The day featured a Health Checkup Camp for villagers, offering free consultations and medicine distribution. In the evening, there was a session on Digital Learning and Journalism.

Day 6 (29th January): Sports competitions like potato race and running races were organized for school students. The day ended with a Bhajan Sandhya spiritual event.

Day 7 (30th January): The camp concluded with a prize distribution ceremony for winners of the games. Volunteers shared their experiences, and the camp concluded with a feedback session. The entire camp contributed significantly to personal growth, community service, and building stronger societal connections.

Overall, the NSS camp was a success, fostering teamwork, leadership, and social responsibility among the volunteers.
