Spoken Tutorial is an initiative of the “Talk to a Teacher” activity by the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (ICT) launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Development (MHRD), Government of India and is being developed by IIT Bombay. Spoken Tutorial is a multi-award winning educational content portal. Here one can learn various free and open source software all by oneself. The courses are simple and easy to follow even for a beginner.
In Civil Engineering Department, the course on QCAD was floated for civil engineering students. More than 75 students & 10 faculties have enrolled for the course. The method was active learning on computer systems and very suited for remote / distance education. Students were allowed to take online examinations on 26th April, 2019 and certificates were issued which are free of cost. Ms. Arya Vijayan, IIT Spoken Tutorial civil department coordinator coordinated all activities related to the course for civil students and faculty.
